Awesome win Greg!

Greg Scheetz is been been a solid supporter of the PhoenixCBA club since our very first tournament. After last month second place finish, Greg emerged as the winner of our 7th tournament of the year. Greg made it through the second round after bowling a 174 game and survived the cut with a plus 11. His next 3 games 256 - 262 and a championship game of 231 against John Jones 225, was enough to clinch the victory.

This tournament was held at AMF Union Hills and it drew 20 entries. Unfortunately we lost a number of bowlers due to the end of the year leagues Tournament Of Champions. The scores started low and by the second game they erupted like a volcano as it took plus 102 to make the cut. Our top qualifier was Greg with a plus 210. Greg received $25.00.

Number 3 for Tom Fregon

Tom Frigon notched his third victory of the year at Lakeview Lanes. Frigon, with his "all Visionary all the time" strategy, has been bowling extremely well this year. For this victory, he used the same Visionary Ogre SS he used to win at Union Hills in January. In his own words, Visionary makes equipment versatile enough to play multiple angles with the same great results."

Today tournament drew 23 entries. With scores somewhat up and down, Our top qualifier was Pete Partridge at plus 188. Pete shot 170 in his 6th game to take him out of contention. Cut score was a modest plus 51. Also with this tournament we ran a criss-cross doubles.

A Sunny Day for SONNY EUBANK

Sonny told me I started bowling again just 2 weeks ago and I don't think I'm ready for good competition. Well Sonny it's like that old saying ONCE YOU LEARN HOW TO RIDE A BIKE YOU NEVER FORGET. Sonny's high game for the day was only 245 and that came during qualifying. He got by the second round with a plus 26 but he's next 3 games of 221-237-224 was enough to hearn him first place. His final game was against Tom Frigon who is been knocking on the door for a 3 peat. Today tournament drew 21 entries. Our top qualifier was new comer Cliff Connors with plus 168. Received $25.00 Today's cut was a moderate plus 64.
